running in the rain!
just back from a wet mcfarland christmas run. it was cold and cloudy and then it rained at the end of the race.
first off at 10 am was the mile race. lots of young runners (under 12 years old)Â who ran under 7 minute miles.
jose flores and his dog won the dog/master mile race in 5:47.
at around 10:15 the 2 mile and 4 mile started with a lot of current and former mcfarland runners in attendance.
jesus gomez won the 2 mile in 9:55 and allison gonzalez won in 12:02.Â
jose salcedo won the 4 mile in 20:06 and suzan sindelar won the women’s division in 26:58. i walked the course and jose lapped me in 15 miutes.
christopher also lapped me and was ahead of all the women too. he ran the 4 mile in 26:39 followed by csub’s erica silva in 27:13.
a couple of my old running buddies ran good races. jonathan wykoff ran 24:35 and bruce deeter ran 24:10. if i find the complete results, i will post them.
at the race they had a flyer with the course records. some names i recognized where:

the dog/master record is 5:04 by matt van horn and lulie.
sadly, no other bhs runners ran the race.
