Lloyd (this year’s runner of the year) admitted he was surprised to learn he’s runner of the year.
“I didn’t think they’d pick me,” he said. “I know we’re in Kern County, but in the past, it always seems they pick a Bakersfield-area runner.”
well only 4 bakersfield runners have been “runner of the year” so lloyd is continuing a tradition of non-bakersfield runners being the runner of the year.
