bhs vs frontier vs south vs east – 08/23/07

today’s scrimmage was at frontier. it was hot and it started late (south’s bus broke down) but it ended up being a very good day especially for the boy’s team.
today’s meet had two races. all the girls ran in a 2 mile race (2 laps) and the boys ran togehther. the varsity boys did three laps/3 miles and the rest did 2 laps/2 miles.
in the girls race, our sandy and a south girl took the early lead. but after the first lap sara, gabby and sam went through the mile in 6:58. sandy went thru the mile in 7:40, followed by erica and sonia.
when the leaders where heading down the homestretch, two frontier girls had taken over the lead. i believe destiny from frontier won the race in 13:46.

then it was time for the boys run. it was a large field and it was a mad dash to the first gate and then a hard right hand turn (the course had 16 turns) to run around the football.
by the time they made it arounf the field. the lead pack was oscar (east), david and ariey. edquist, a south runner and chris were not far behind. the leaders went through the mile under 6 minutes.
this order stay the same for most of the race. in the end, oscar won the race followed by our boys in blue and white (ariey, david, edquist, zack and chris), zack caught chris in the last part of the race. our fifth runner was only 75 seconds behind oscar and oscar went to state last year as an individual runner.
so our boys varsity team is my driller of the week.
