Cross Country and Track
Halle Meadows (Frontier) won the 1600, 800 and 3200 at the liberty frosh/soph invite!
this past fall, she qualified for state in cross country too.
she ran real smart races and finished strong in all of them. i believe she PRed or almost PRed in them too.
she even anchored her school’s 4 x 400 team but got caught by the drillers anchor and missed out on third place in that event.

my son christopher’ s first race was the following:
33:56 Jun 6 2006 Handicap Summer Series 5K – #1
and at the liberty frosh/soph invite (less than two years later) he ran 10:45 for 3200 meters.
his splits were 75,81,82,82,83,83,83,81, and 77. he went thru the 1600 in 5:20 which is almost his pr.
he has been training old school, with lots of high mileage weeks. a month ago, he ran a half marathon in 1:26 and he is now training to run a marathon in may.
he hopes to go sub 3.

Anyone interested in Academic Decathlon (or Aca Dec as it is often called), The first meeting for next year’s BHS AcaDec team will be this Friday March 28 at lunch in Sci 104 (the big lecture hall). The meeting will be 4th and 5th lunches so all grades can attend.
