while i play poker i google a lot and found this.
my xc teammate, chris bowlus, is still in the record books at ucsd. he ran the 1500 m in 3:52 way back in 1984.
plus another teammate, brian barton, is listed in the 3000 m steeplechase records with a time of 9:13 in 1982.

my old stomping grounds
i ran cross country for ucsd in 1981 and 1982. then i did triathlons full time. both years we had good teams and i was 6 or 7th man. my sophomore year we missed going to nationals (in new york) by one point. we usually ran 5 mile courses and i ran in the 26 to 27 minute range. i wish i had run my junior and senoir year but school and triathlons got in my way. i graduated in 1985 with a BA in animal physiology from ucsd. twenty years later i got a BS in economics from csub.
